Fake chicken strips with water chestnuts, snow peas, baby corn in a black bean and sesame sauce. The main dish was served with rice (brown or white). The pickled vegetables were nice, tasted like a Chinese cole slaw without the mayo. They need to do something to the dumpling sauce, it tasted like water. Before anything was ready, they served some pickled vegetables, little hot sauce and a light dumpling sauce for my dumplings. I ordered some steamed dumplings and a chef special spicy fake chicken dish. ![]() I really hate this kind of policy.but I digress. They have a great cheap lunch menu except it was not offered on holidays or weekends. not why we go to Buford Hwy, we go for the food and reasonable prices.Ĭame here on Memorial Day for lunch. That, or ask them for a plastic soup container and just pour off the liquid, seal it, and replace it over the food when you get home and sit down to eat. Otherwise, you risk a mess and loss of the delicious sauce. If you're getting takeout, I recommend taking a box (printer paper size, or so) and a towel or blanket to stuff around the food to keep it from moving. They use styrofoam clamshell containers, where the traditional carton might work better (though it'd probably cut portion size, too). My only complaint is that most every time, the sauce from the Mongolian Beef leaks into the bag on the drive home. The owners and staff always seem genuinely happy to see me, and my orders are always ready and waiting and accurate. The Hot And Sour Soup and Lo Mein are solid offerings, as well, and the brown rice is always cooked perfectly. In fact, I've never had anything bad from here. Mongolian Beef is my favorite, with bold, complex and smoky flavors from a well-seasoned wok. The food is still the same as it was the first time I tried it: simply. Vegetarian or otherwise, Harmony is my favorite Chinese restaurant - period! I've eaten at Harmony for going on 20 years. I've tried hundreds of Chinese restaurants in my lifetime.
